Website Privacy Policy

This policy covers the website formsgen.com: its pages, its guides, its free tools and its contact form. It is published by Nice Express. The iOS app “AI Form Builder & Survey Maker” has its own policy, which is the one the App Store links to: App privacy policy.

The short version: we measure how the site is used with Google Analytics, we read the messages you send us through the contact form, and our host keeps technical logs. We do not show ads on this website, we do not sell data, and there is no account to create here.

What we collect, and why

Visits (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, how people arrive on them and which guides need work. For each visit, Google Analytics records the pages viewed, the page you came from, the type of device and browser, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), and interactions such as scrolling or clicking a link. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. It identifies a returning browser with the cookies listed below, not with your name or email address.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Québec, Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you accept it in the banner shown on your first visit: nothing is sent to Google before that. Elsewhere it loads with the page, and you can turn it off at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Google processes this data on our behalf. Event data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, then deleted. Visits by people signed in to edit the website are not measured.

Messages you send us

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. When you send it, the website emails it to us. The message is not stored in the website’s database: it lives in our mailboxes, hosted by Hostinger and by Google, for as long as we need it to answer you and handle any follow-up. We use your email address only to reply to you.

Technical logs

Like every web server, the one that hosts this site (Hostinger) records each request: IP address, date and time, the address requested, and the browser’s user agent. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, for example to block automated attacks, and are kept for a limited period by the host.

Short links

Links of the form formsgen.com/f/… redirect to a Google Form. For each short link we count the number of clicks and the time of the most recent one. We do not record who clicked: no IP address, no cookie, no identifier.

The free tools

The QR code generator and the header image maker run entirely in your browser. The link you paste and the image you choose are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Links to the App Store

Buttons that open the App Store carry a short campaign code naming the page they are on, so Apple can tell us which pages lead to downloads. The code describes the page, not you. What Apple collects once you are on the App Store is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Cookies

These two cookies are set only if Google Analytics is loaded, which in Europe and Québec means only after you accept. Your answer to the banner is remembered in your browser’s local storage under the name fg-consent, for six months, so that we do not ask again on every page; it is not sent to us or to anyone. The website sets no other cookie for visitors. There are no advertising cookies on this website. WordPress sets its own cookies only for people signed in to edit the site.

Your choices

Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to accept or refuse Google Analytics, or to change your mind; refusing deletes its cookies and stops the measurement straight away. The site works exactly the same either way. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, or stop Google Analytics on every website with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. And you can simply not use the contact form: every guide and tool on this site works without it.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection or Québec’s Law 25 applies, we rely on: your consent, given in the banner and withdrawable at any time, for analytics; the handling of your request, for messages you send us; and our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure, for technical logs. Elsewhere, analytics relies on our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used, and you can object with the Cookie settings link.

Who receives the data

Only the providers that run the website for us: Hostinger (hosting, email), Google (Google Analytics, email) and, if you follow an App Store link, Apple. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Google may process data in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, which the European Commission and the UK and Swiss authorities recognise as providing adequate protection.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy of it. Write to info@formsgen.com; we answer within one month. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the CNIL in France or the Commission d’accès à l’information in Québec.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through the contact form, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

When what the website collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. The previous version is available on request.
